The camp of the DHS Aspirants in Cameroon took place on 10-13 April 2017, bringing together thirteen young girls from Maroua-Mokolo and Yagoua dioceses, accompanied by five Sisters... The basic sharing with the aspirants and theme of the session was “Marie Balavenne, foundress of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit”.
On Saturday, January 21st the whole world seemed to rally under a united banner to advance the cause of justice and to protect basic human/women’s rights. Marches in Paris, London, Sidney, etc., underscored the seriousness of this purpose and the involvement of millions of people around the globe.

This was the 5th time -an event which takes place every second year- that the local pastoral youth movement around Ploërmel, at the very heart of Brittany, France, enacted a living Christmas crib. This year, it was on Saturday 10 December at Loyat… as at Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Lots of people answered to the invitation: the church was crowded with 500 people or so!

On Sunday 25 September 2016, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit were invited by the town council of Le Cellier, a town situated to the West of France, not far from Nantes, to take part in an impressive celebration: a representative of the Israeli Embassy was to award the Medal and Certificate of honor -the highest distinction used by the State of Israel- to four members of a local family, three of them posthumously.
The life of Marie Balavenne, foundress of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Congregation, has seduced Mana Gregoire, one of our Associates, so much that he has given his daughter the name of Marie Balavenne. Marie Balavenne was born on 2 December 2010, at Touroua in the North Cameroon region.
The Cameroon Associates’ General Assembly took place at Lara, on 18 February 2017; were present Sister Pauline Maïssenso, the vice-provincial and the DHS councilors of the different groups. Like every year, there were a great number of participants.
Back from a session on "the media", organized by CORREF, the Conference for religious men and women in France, which took place in Paris on 11-12 February 2017, I hastened, as I often do, to go and see what was on, on the site of our Congregation...
