Health
Clinics in Doukoula, Lara, Touroua in Cameroon. Clinic in Ipetu-Modu, Nigeria. Preventive medicine education in villages of Cameroon, Burkina-Faso.
New project :
CAMEROON Healthcare centre at Touroua. Touroua is a big village 118 km from Garoua (North Cameroon), 70 km of the roads being impassable in the rainy seasons.. Thirty villages are some 25-60 km distant from Touroua. St Vincent de Paul’s healthcare centre was set up in 2001 by the DHS to respond to the needs of the population. A great number of children suffer from anaemia, malnutrition, uncared-for infantile diseases .
Objectives : - Sensitise the population, especially the women on childhood preventive care. - Educate and train the women and young girls throughout all the villages. - Organise more meetings to fight malnutrition and alcoholism
Needs : Construction of a training centre : 5600 euros. Adequate transportation means : a “starlette” costs 3800 euros. Healthcare staff to carry out this mission.
