The house where he was born is still to be seen at the entrance of the community.  Margaret,the new general Councillor, was not a member of the Chapter. Having spent 37 years in Nigeria, she was having a sabbatical year in Ireland, her native land. She has just come to join the Chapter and will take part in the final stage. The general Council is now complete. (More...)

 The elections are over: the results have been sent, by post, to the sisters of the Congregation. “Nothing can stop the living water which dashes down from the heights and carves its bed along its course.  Enlivened by the Spirit of Pentecost, we believe that this same spirit is at work in the world, in the Church … and in us. We want to be attentive to the “new thing” that the Spirit is doing, to listen to His/Her desire. Deep within us we believe: that the unpredictable spirit, who has led us at every stage during the last 300 years, is still at work in our DHS family (More...)

 We have the joy of announcing the name of our new superior general elected this morning, April 11, in Chpater: Sr. Agnes Stephan, the one who has directed the Congregation since 2002.  This stage is being lived through a process of discernment for all the capitulants continuing from this Wednesday afternoon all through Thursday. On Friday the capitulants will elect the Superior General.  These photos would like to bring you an echo of the joyful sound that echoes among us here in Chapter. It is the echo of laughter, singing in all our different languages -French, English, Spanish- as well as the original languages of several sisters among us: Yoruba, Igbele, Mafa, Moundang… It is the joy of meetings where language has hints of other languages.  We have come here from thirteen countries. To open ourselves together to another culture -that of India- is the first step we are taking in the Chapter. Thanks to a magnificent Indian rite -rich in colours and smells and tastes- led by a dancer, we were invited through symbols to come to that true level where life can be listened to and engendered in a new way, that of (...)  The General Chapter of the Congregation will convene from March 27th to April 18th. It is a time of prayer, reflection, and discussion among 64 DHS delegates from 13 countries: listening to the realities of their countries, their Churches, their sisters. To be conscious of the Lord, we have received all we need to speak as his disciple -Isaiah 50, 4-7-, which presumes a profound intimacy with Him and allowing ourselves to be led by Him.
