64 sisters, 15 communities. (April 2008)
- The official centenary celebration was held at the cathedral in Northampton, on the 5th of October 2002, a truly historic event, when we were joined by 18 sisters from France, our Associates and representatives of the Secular Branch, and former DHS sisters as well as religious of the diocese, business representatives, long-standing friends of the Congregation and clergy. The sacred story of the founding of the Province 100 years ago is for us a source of joy and inspiration. In faith and love our first sisters founded "Houses of Charity" and laid the foundations for the spirit of peace and reconciliation to which we are called today.
There have been productions : - a video “Seeds full of promise” which reveals the development of our ministry in the areas of multi-faith and multi-cultural life: this fills us with great joy and hope. - two books were written on our history and mission since 1902, preserving our story for posterity.
- Other celebrations have also been notable events : some sixty sisters travelled by coach on pilgrimage to our first foundation in High Wycombe and to end the day we had a Prayer Thanksgiving at St Joseph’s, Olney, whose centenary we also celebrated. Celebrations in Abergavenny and Aberystwyth.
- The number of Associates continues to grow and there are several candidates in formation. These lay people are actively involved in the life of their locality and parish wherever they are as well as in global projects.
- ROMANIA In 2007, the official opening and blessing of the kindergarten and community house in Iugani was a significant moment in our history. We commit ourselves to support and nurture this new expression of our charism and ask the Holy Spirit to bless its growth that it may bear fruit in abundance.
