Easter : “ Let’s rise up …”
 On Easter morning, when it was still dark, the women went to the tomb. The love that was burning in their hearts urged them to hasten and perform a funeral rite for their friend. Then they heard the voice of God’s messenger say to them :
“You are looking for Jesus who was Crucified ?
He is not here, He is risen !”
Angel of the Lord, do reassure us anew : your testimony is our certainty.
Yes, God has raised his Son from the dead. The One who was dead has burst forth from the dark womb of the earth and is alive forever ! Having embraced our human existence, Christ draws in his wake of light the dead of yesterday and today, all those who, out of suffering, are tempted to lose heart. He opens up a new path. Waters, earth, and heavens, rejoice and sing the alleluia of all things restored anew !
Easter summons us to leave loitering about in the dark : “Let’s rise up”. For from now on, life triumphs over death, life creeps into unexpected places, in unexpected ways. By our faith in Christ’s resurrection, let us awaken in each other ever-new capacities to make life spring forth.
