From one marketplace to another
 “We cannot stop the movement towards globalisation. Are we going to look on as spectators or are we going to commit ourselves to a more humane globalisation, one in which there will be more solidarity? Are we going to work with those who are trying to fight for the Community that is the Earth? ”

In this first stage of our Chapter, we discovered, sometimes with emotion, how this pressing invitation has been echoed in our own lives and in those of our communities. The same spirit is speaking to our hearts. Even though we are sometimes thousands of miles away from one another, he is making us sensitive to the same calls, particularly those of women, children, young people ill-equipped to deal with life, the cries of people who are wounded.
In order to absorb and make our own of this mission there were no dossiers to be studied; there were instead displays, videos teeming with life and “humble gestures” lived out among ourselves and with others. These were valuable supports inviting us to share with sisters vibrant with the life of their own people… sisters each aware of the “sense of family” which gives priority to a life lived close to the people, endeavouring to facilitate growth, to educate, to train, to accompany... We went from one “marketplace” to another getting a feeling for, getting a taste of these responses to the Spirit… the Spirit who never ceases to invite us to get up, to take risks, to denounce… in order to be at "the service of life and with others to bring our measure of hope to the world."
One choice amongst others struck us,
the opening of a community at the heart of the Peruvian desert :
a small fragile house, simple as our foundresses would have liked it to be.
From our poverty offered to the Spirit, life can spring forth.
“See I am doing something new which is already budding forth...
Can you not see it?” Is. 43:19
