Looking back over 6 years...
The face of our Congregation is changing... The Moral Report presented by Sr Agnes Stephan, our Superior General, even speaks of a rapid transformation: on the demographic level, on a growing internationality -13 young African sisters and two Chilean sisters are participating in the Chapter- and that leads us to ask: Where are we going together? What future do we desire?
The temptation would be to remain attached to the past, to the known... Faced with our limits we could have two attitudes: either to consider “the least” -all that holds us bound- or to look at “the more” , which allows us to move forward.,The report quotes Helena Lesida, a member of “Justice and Peace”, speaking of sustainable development; we can apply it to ourselves: “...loss is inevitable: nothing new can be born if we don’ t make room for it. Even if we do not know what exactly lies ahead, the fact of believing that there is something new before us, places the loss in a positive and creative dynamic, makes the crossing of the desert a journey towards the promised land.”

The Economic Report places us before the same reality. The opening page attached here repeats for us the meaning of this economic aspect of our life: a way of being present to the world. Three topics serve as a framework for the reflection:
- Holding in common of needs and resources - Goods to live, provide for the needs of the mission and share - Responsibility in management at all levels
At the end of these two moments of looking back, Fr. Larry, during his homily that evening, invited us to look again at the gospel of the day: “The one who acts in truth comes to the light, so that his works may be recognised as works of God...” Jn. 3, 21 This is an essential reference for us in order to reflect on these past six years, and to pursue our work of discernment as a Chapter.
