Live the unfolding of the election process
This stage is being lived through a process of discernment for all the capitulants continuing from this Wednesday afternoon all through Thursday. On Friday the capitulants will elect the Superior General. It is good for us to mention once again the meaning of this service of authority which we are going to entrust to her for the next six years; it will be shared with a Council which will be elected next Sunday.
“The service of authority in the Congregation is lived in seeking the calls of the Spirit, a seeking in which we all cooperate actively. It demands personal respect, the sense of dialogue and collaboration, the aptitude to discern, and the courage to take decisions in the light of the gospel...
To accept a service of authority in the Congregation is to be called to welcome in a particular way this word of Jesus which is addressed to us all: “ Learn from me for I am meek and humble of heart...”
Rule of Life, Articles 58, 59 and 60.
NB: We will come back to you at the beginning of next week.
