Against Torture
In the USA, The DHS have taken part in several events sponsored by the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NARCAT). The latest project involved having a banner placed on the front of the Provincial house so it could be seen from the street.
The banner reads:
“Daughters of the Holy Spirit say torture is wrong”.
Over 200 Congregations across the U.S. participated in displaying this anti-torture banner during the month of June: Torture Awareness Month. Our province has also taken a corporate stance against torture.
NRCAT will produce a poster of 15 banners from various Congregations; a copy of this poster will be given to every member of Congress. This project “banners Across America”, will be a wonderful witness to the importance of ending U.S. sponsored torture
