Words of encouragement
 "Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life. Rather look to them with full hope that as they arrive, God, whose very own you are will lead you safely through all things. And when you cannot stand, God will carry you in his arms." Francois de Sales
These were the words of encouragement that Sister Norma Bourdon quoted this week as members of the DHS family gathered in the Provincial House chapel to celebrate the transfer of leadership in the US Province. During the ritual, Sisters Jacqueline Robillard, Anne Marie Berthiaume and Paula-Jean Despathy presented copies of the Rule of Life and the calls of the Provincial and General Chapters to symbolically transfer the service of authority they have held to the new team : Sister Norma Bourdon, Provincial and Sisters Pateicia Moons and Bonnie Morrow, Provincial Councilors.
Each received a lit candle with the prayer:
“May the light of Christ which is in you, spread like fire to continue to inflame the province and may each of us in turn recognize our responsibility to both ‘fan the flame’ and be the torch that carries the flame."
The new team then shared this light with those present.
At the reception following the ceremony, the was an opportunity to congratulate the new team and to assure them of our continued prayers and support.
