Adjunct professor...

The Killingly, Connecticut Board of Education "must have done something good somewhere in their youth or childhood" (Sound of Music) because they have had the fortune to recruit the expertise of Dr. Diane Summa, PhD, who recently accepted an appointment to replace long-time and highly respected board member Dr. Lavius Robinson after he entered eternal life a couple months ago. Dr. Summa comes to the Board with 35 plus years of classroom and administrativ e experience. She is currently employed as an adjunct professor at Quinebaug Valley Community College located in Danileson, CT. Diane has been a member of the Associate Branch of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit since it was first established some 21 years ago. She has been very active with the group and has served on various committees, including the Core Group for the United States. She continues to be involved in many activities of the Province. She can be found at the Provincial House on a regular basis rendering assistance to the Sisters, sharing holiday and feast day gifts and good cheer and treating one or the other at various and sundried times to a special dinner or even a short time away. She is a member of the Chapel Choir and enjoys exchanging stories and listening to the ‘senior' Sisters. In a recent conversation Summa was heard to say that she has always loved teaching. There is no doubt that her tenure on the Killingly BOE will offer her many opportunities to ‘teach' and to share her acquired wisdom and professional prudence with her colleagues and with the entire school community.
