Consecration of Consecrated Seculars

I arrived from Antofagasta to join in the preparations for the third ceremony (2006-2009-2011) of consecration of Consecrated Seculars in Santiago, presided by Jane Houtman, our Regional Moderator of the Americas, from the USA. We convened in sisterly work groups, very happy and with high hopes on Sunday 27-11-11, for the solemn profession of first vows of two sisters, Fresia and Gaucolda Cifuentes Hernández, and the renovation of Gemita, Flor and Berta.

Spiritually preceded by our Holy Mother, the Virgin Mary, in procession, we entered the Chapel of Padre Hurtado, aglow with candles and decorated with roses and white doves, symbols of the Triune God Who beats alive and sings within the hearts of our families and friends gathered together. The dialog of consecration of the vows, the signing of the Acts, the reception of our Statutes and medal, and the renovation of vows by Gemita, Flor and Berta were all solemn moments. These signs were interpreted in the sermon by a priest-friend of the two sisters in his words designating “each consecrated person as a fragment of the immense love of God among us”…

Afterwards, we shared together with families, sisters, associates and friends an agape in peace, happiness, and prayer, all together as “fragments, co-participants, in Love”, united to Him Who is the “Living Source and the Fire which is Love”. (Veni Creator)
