Improving study and housing conditions for young girls at the Foyer Marie Balavenne in Diébougou

The Girls’ Hostel “Marie Balavenne” is under the tutelage of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Burkina Faso. It is located in Diébougou where several schools are concentrated. The Hostel currently accommodates sixty-two young girls. Its mission is moral, human, spiritual and intellectual education.
The Hostel aims to offer these young girls in school a healthy home, while accompanying those who are going through emotional crises related to family concerns. We seek to create a family spirit among them. Because of the difficult security situation in Burkina Faso, families are moving and the demand to join the Hostel is very high. To try to meet this demand, transformations have been made to increase the space for housing and study.
The managers of the Foyer Marie Balavenne wanted to build toilets and showers. Also needed are mattresses, benches and chairs to improve the reception and study conditions of the residents.
