Anniversary of Nigeria Independence

Nigeria became independent on 1st October 1960, a land rich in culture and blessed with both human and natural resources. The novitiate community as citizens of this beloved country joined the millions of others citizens to celebrate the 58th Anniversary today by chanting the national anthem and reciting the national pledge. We also shared how we felt about the importance of the anthem and the pledge which is a clarion call for each of us to be faithful, loyal, and honest and to uphold the unity of our fatherland. We all enjoyed the local dish served as lunch and the beautiful cake and ‘Zobo’ drink.

This afternoon was full of laughter and joy as we celebrated the land of our birth and asked the intercession of our lady, queen of Nigeria. We pray that God will bless Nigeria with good leaders and grant us peace. Long live, Nigeria!
