From the table of the CC...

Greetings from Ile-Blanche! We the members of the leadership team of the Congregation arrived here in Ile-Blanche since Sunday 24th of March 2019. We would like to share a bit of our reflection together as a work group. On our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our sisters of the Ile-Blanche community as they invited us to take part in an aperitif which they had prepared for us.

In the first place, what is the CC? It is a peak moment which invites the group of CC to reflect and reread together the life of the Congregation today in order to find a way forward. It is a meeting organized yearly by the Superior General and her Council within their mandate for the members of government of different Units; to discuss, discern and make propositions together in view of helping the Congregation to live out its Charism and Mission today. However, this year’s CC is somehow different from the previous ones since it is preceding the next General Chapter.

During the official opening of the CC, Sister Anne-Marie Foucher, our Superior General told us that the main objective of this particular CC was to prepare for our General Chapter coming up in year 2020. She invited us to do this together in union of mind with the whole Congregation while bearing in mind the theme of this Chapter which is: "Courage it is I”.

Monday 25th of March, the first day of work as a group. We took time to share with each other on how we implemented the 2014 General Chapter orientation in our different Units since the last CC. Sisters were able to express the joys and concerns of their various units through this exercise while seeking to listen to what direction the Spirit is leading us today. The next day, Tuesday we entered fully into the preparation of the General Chapter 2020. The days that followed helped us to look at finance and economic matters with the help of our DAF, Mr. Caselli and our General Bursar, Sister Anne Donnelly.

Up until now, what stands out strongly for us is the call to be attentive to the communal aspect of our life together in the different Units as part of a whole. Together in the Congregation, we form a common ground where we support one another through our relationship among ourselves and through sharing with others. We look to the future of the Congregation with hope despite the present situations and happenings of our world and in the Church which rather tend to discourage us. Our meeting continues and finishes Sunday March 31.
