In Cameroon: commitments…
June 1st 2019, day of shared joy. In fact, the "YES" of Sister Lucie Nopelba to follow the footsteps of Christ for the rest of her life, the renewal of the 25 years of religious life of Sister Catherine Mamma and the 30 years of Sister Monique Gabana have given to this day all its splendor, as well as the commitments of 3 Associates. Yes, in Garoua, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Family of Cameroon were rejoicing!
The atmosphere of the celebration was joyful and the emotion profound! The witnesses, the Sisters’ families and the parishioners were impressed by the message of these commitments: "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their particular service." (1Cor, 12, 4-6)
This event was a confirmation lived in Church, of faith in the Spirit, source of vitality, dynamism and openness for the Daughters of the Holy Spirit of the Vice-Province of Cameroon. The Thanksgiving Mass had a twofold impact: firstly, to give thanks to God for the gift of religious vocation, for the seed sown within the hearts and the grace to respond to the call, and secondly, to give thanks to God for the presence, the contribution and the participation of the Sisters’ families, Associates and parishioners.
At the end of the day, we could remember these words of St Paul: "...for you do not live under law but under God's grace" (Rm 6,14) " there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rm 8, 39)
