111th edition of the FRAT.
34 youths from Noisy le Grand, city located in the suburb of Paris, left for Jambville by public transportation to attend the FRAT which took place from the 7th to the 10th of june. Implemented by the Fraternal Association, the FRAT is a pilgrimage wanted and animated by the Bishops of Ile-De-France which brings together young Christians of the 8 Dioceses for 3 to 4 days. The objective is to provide the youth a set of practices best suited to fully experience the essence of the FRAT: "Praying, Singing, Encounter".
Here is an excerpt from the homily: «For the past few days you have heard: «Be Saints » What does it mean «to be Saint?». It simply means fulfilling our Baptism: It's your job! If you are baptized you must become Saints, just as the doctor's work is to provide care, the farmer's work is to cultivate his field… A baptized person must become saint: that's the nature of things. Ah ! I know what you are going to tell me, «Me, I did not ask to be baptized». It is true, some of you were baptized as children : they did not choose. But tell me, What have you chosen in life ? Did you choose to live? To be born? Did you choose your parents? What haven't you chosen yet: Did you choose to go to school ? School is compulsory! So, let's make sense of it by telling ourselves: «It will serve me later to have a place in society.» Just as school brings us a place in society, the fact ofbeing baptized also brings something more... By following Christ, we know that he will lead us on the path that will make us grow not only in humanity, but also in the discovery of the presence of God within us: "Those who love me will obey my teaching. My father will love them, and my father and I will come to them and live with them." (Jn 14, 13 - 23). May you truly be the home of God by welcoming the Holy Spirit".
We,Daughters of the Holy Spirit, have to remain attentive to the expectations of today's youth by welcoming, listening, reading, praying.
