... so that the mission bears more fruit!
From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th of September in Maroua, CAMEROON, the DHS of the Vice-Province of Cameroon lived their annual assembly around the theme: "Rooted in Trinitarian Love for a fruitful mission."
This year, the Vice-Provincial assembly had a particular flavour for several reasons: - First of all, at the assembly's opening, all the sisters present walked in procession from the Vice-Provincial chapel to the meeting room: beauty and union of heart and spirit! We could feel in each one of them a certain rebirth because the Vice-Province had not welcomed an assembly since the beginning of the Boko-Haram terrorist attacks in 2014: it felt so wonderful to be home especially after such a long time! Lastly, the introduction was led by the Continuous Training team on "the economy at the service of the charism": we have been invited to acquire the art of properly managing the house and the art of being a good steward of God's Grace, so might appear in all that we do our Charism.
After the different teachings and speeches, we had to find the means to remain rooted in the Trinitarian Love and the fraternity in Vice-Province during this new year, so that the mission bears more fruit, because, for us, the desire is to keep our own DHS identity. Different proposals have been suggested: we entrusted them to the Vice-Provincial council in order for them to discern, sort and choose what is fitting to live this year.
The assembly ended with the sending in mission of the various communities by the Vice-Provincial, who at the same time handed to each community, the painting of the Icon of the Holy Trinity relating to the year’s theme. The Council in turn, received it from the hands of sister Héléne Inizan, our elder in religious life, with these words "Go, contemplate this image, may it help you in fraternal communion in community and in church."
