"Willingness to live together"

A few residents of a building of 127 units are trying to support a tenant Association whose motto can be summed up in these terms: "Willingness to live together!" Among these tenants, the community of the DHS of Charonne street in Paris.

This is how the association organizes, from year to year, "The end of the year party" which is held, for the families in the building’s entrance hall. As of November, there is the opening of the « decoration workshop » which brings together adults and children for the decoration of the hall on a pre-chosen theme, a hall which takes the appearance of the sea or the forest, or that makes us dream with the Little Prince or brings us into a better knowledge of our places and countries of origin. This year the theme was "Our First Names": each one of the 400 residents was invited to write his first name on a large format tag, duly decorated.

At 6:30 PM, on Sunday, December 15th, 2019, the hall was noisy with a joyful atmosphere. The children's choir, created by Sister France in 2000, opened the festivities with songs centred on fraternity, the refrains being joined by all. This was followed by the distribution of the gifts: a book for each one of the children between the ages of 0 to 12 and a small plant for each of the seniors over 70 years of age. A snack, made from what everyone had brought -every year, Zined is delighted to prepare for everyone a long- awaited traditional mint tea!- gave rise to fraternal exchanges.

The evening ended as it had started, in the joy and happiness of having made new acquaintances.
