Making room for...
Christmas Eve. We live near "Porte de la Chapelle", a station of the number 12 line of the Paris Subway, located in the 18th district. And, as all the doors of the Paris subways, it is closed, locked, padlocked by the strike days against the pension reform ongoing at this moment in France and forces everyone to stay home, not go out and therefore not meet anyone. And yet it is Christmas !
Out in the street, I see a bus, then a second one, going in the same direction. The sidewalk is crowded with people and everyone is trying to find his way in as the bus is already full: laboriously we made it through, unfortunately not all of us. The bus driver where I am located then said: "Could you please move forward towards the back of the bus, today I will not leave anyone on the sidewalk!" And silently everyone tried to take a few more steps towards the back of the bus so that everyone could get in. We could see a smile on all the faces: It is Christmas after all !!!
"Thus, Lord, look with kindness on your people. Come to teach us how to share, how to welcome others by the place that we give them and therefore in any situation, to feel you "God among us."
