The smallest creature has its own unique beauty and its own place in the world. May our simple gestures and daily care allow an "ecological conversion" which will impregnate our relations with the environment and with others.
Some excerpts from the encyclical "Laudato si'" (Pope Francis):
"Each creature possesses its own particular goodness and perfection." (69)
"Every creature is thus the object of the Father's tenderness, who gives it its place in the world. Even the fleeting life of the least of beings is the object of his love, and in its few seconds of existence, God enfolds it with his affection." (77)
"We are always capable of going out of ourselves.... are essential if we truly wish to care for our brothers and sisters and for the natural environment..." (208)
"An integral ecology is also made up of simple daily gestures which break with the logic of violence, exploitation and selfishness." (230)
What the person who carries his dog says: "The sun is a little bit warm, right Nikon? We are taking a walk, huh! There, you see, I just came from work: I put my bicycle down and I take my dog out, we are enjoying the sunshine. I have to go back to work at 5pm: I am working at the hospital, I am a caregiver. There. So, I am taking a little bit care of everyone!"
