This Saturday, May 23, 2026, in an atmosphere of faith, joy, and emotion, the Christ the Savior parish of Domayo-Maroua, diocese of Maroua-Mokolo, CAMEROON, vibrated to the rhythm of a major spiritual event: the perpetual vows of Sisters Odette MAIBLAME and Denise MBAFI in the congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit.
Families, friends, priests, men and women religious and faithful from many backgrounds have communed in thanksgiving around these two consecrated women who have chosen to give their lives definitively to Christ. The atmosphere was both festive and spiritual. The sisters, novices, aspirants as well as the associates of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, dressed in blue, gave to the celebration a particular color. The songs performed in various national languages reflected the cultural richness and diversity of Cameroon.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Bruno ATEBA EDO, bishop of the diocese of Maroua-Mokolo. He called the nuns to always remain faithful to their community: “Pray together, eat together, share the joys and sorrows of the community,” he urged, emphasizing the beauty of fraternal life in religious consecration.
After the homily, the celebration continued with the engagement in front of Sister Angèle HARANGA SILIKAM, Vice-Provincial and delegate of the Superior General, with the litany of saints, followed by the central moment of the profession of perpetual vows. In a silence charged with emotion, the two religious committed themselves definitively to live the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience within the FSE congregation.
The mass then continued with the Eucharistic liturgy in an atmosphere of recollection and thanksgiving. At the end of the celebration, a large family photo brought together bishop, priests, religious and faithful around the new professed. It was also a time of reunion, conviviality and sharing between the guests.
The faces radiating joy testified to the beauty of this exceptional day. Everyone left happy to have participated in this Eucharistic celebration, bearing in their hearts the living memory of two women who chose to dedicate their lives to the service of God and of the Church. Denise and Odette expressed their joy and gratitude.

Denise: “Joy and love characterize my total donation to God. On this day, my heart rejoices and overflows with joy for the love received from God through the presence of my parents, my brothers and sisters, my uncles, the religious men and women and the crowd that came from everywhere including delegations from the native village of Outchikar, from Koza and from Pintchoumba. In the Congregation, I felt a strong bond of attachment between sisters. By this sense of belonging to the Family of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, I am carried in prayer and love by my sisters of the General Council, the various Units and especially our Vice-Province of Cameroon. I responded to the Lord with a heart that was trustful and undivided before the whole assembly. Now, all my deep gratitude to you: may the Lord bless!”
Odette: “This day was for me an unforgettable day of joy, a day when the Lord has given us the grace to devote ourselves totally to his service. May his name be praised, for the gift of my brothers and sisters in the Church who have accompanied me with their prayers, their presence and fraternal affection and have manifested to us their joy, their love. All my gratitude to my sisters in the congregation and in the Vice-Province, who in fraternal love prayed, devoted themselves and mobilized for the success of the celebration. May the Spirit of Pentecost bless each one in her mission and strengthen our communion, our solidarity and our fraternity in our Unity, for the glory of his Name and the witness of love in the world, following in the footsteps of our first sisters! Amen!”
