From September 1 to 9, 2026, a special “Rule of Life” session coordinated by Sister Agnès STÉPHAN (France/Belgium) was held at the Mother House of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, in Saint-Brieuc, France. It brought together the Sisters: Gertrude LANOUETTE (USA), Anne MORRIS (England/Ireland), Hélène INIZAN, NDAOKAï Star (France/Belgium) and Olga KIENDREBEOGO (General Councillor). They were helped by a translator, Tatiana JUNOD.
As a result of the work carried out by previous sub-committees, with a view to updating the Rule of Life, our objective was to verify the consistency and harmony of all the documents received for this purpose. Both studious and relaxed, the fraternal atmosphere that prevailed allowed for effective work and gave us satisfaction. The working method using screen projection allowed us to modify all the documents received together. The coffee and tasting breaks between working sessions, enhanced by products from the various Units and the garden of the Mother House, were highly appreciated. Appreciable also was the observation of the traces of the contribution of the different communities of the Congregation in the work received from the sub-commissions. Throughout this session, we felt a special communion with our sisters present at the Mother-House as well as with all the sisters of the Congregation, all connected by the same “Rule of Life” that is being reborn.
A one-day working session gave us the opportunity to gather the opinions of the Superior General, Sister Ann ALMODOVAR on the one hand, and the canonist Carine DEQUENNE on the other, on questions that required their expertise.
We hope that this update will facilitate the work of the special Rule of Life Chapter.
