Cameroon: blessing of a local

On Monday, December 8, 2025, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, feast of the founding of our Congregation, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit of the Vice-Province of Cameroon blessed the premises that will now house the administrative offices and archive rooms… and thus inaugurated it!

On this occasion a mass was celebrated by Father Christophe IDRISSA, Vicar General of the diocese of Maroua-Mokolo. In his homily, Father Christopher made us understand that the Virgin Mary was preserved from original sin from her conception, keeping throughout her life this purity and transparency which reflects the image of God. He presented it as a path of life, a path of grace, conversion, and hope. He invited us to reflect this image of the Virgin Mary in everything we do.
After communion, Sister Angèle HARANGA SILIKA, Vice-Provincial of Cameroon, took the floor first to thank God who allowed us to carry out this construction, then to express her gratitude and appreciation towards the Superior General, of his advisors as well as the team of the general commissary for this achievement. She thanked all the people who participated in one way or another in the construction of this place.

Immediately after the Eucharistic celebration, the celebrant, the concelebrant and the faithful went to the new building for his blessing. After 70 years of missionary presence in Cameroon, the Vice-Province now has a space for administrative offices and archives. The rooms it contains -Economat, Secretariat, Communication Service, Archives room and the archivist’s office- are named after some of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit who worked in Cameroon as well as the names of Superiors General: Yvette QUILFEN, Rita OUELLETTE, Ann ALMODOVAR, Elisabeth ARHURO, Marie Hélène LE BIHAN, Anne-Marie COULOIGNER. It is a great emotion for us to now be able to well organize, preserve and perpetuate the history of our congregation in Cameroon.
We reiterate our gratitude to the Congregation who continues to accompany us in our mission. Of all our communion through prayer and particularly with those who have lived a few years of their life in Cameroon.

After the blessing and the inauguration, we shared a fraternal meal.
