The “Jeannette HORBAITA” Center for the Formation of the Young Girl is a work of Congrégation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit of the Vice Province of CAMEROON.
To mark the end of the 2025/2026 school year, a ceremony that took place on Friday, June 12, 2026. the Center organized activities implementing the annual program that were mimicked by “female learners” such as Eva classes – sewing, embroidery, cooking, knitting,- … represented in sketches, poems, songs, dances and the experiences of each one lived in their daily lives, with family or with friends. They were very happy to feel loved and valued within society. This moment was also for them a time of personal evaluation where each, according to their talents and abilities, reaped the fruit of their work to advance in their formation and to present their know-how.
Six “courageous and persevering learners? have reached the end of their formation and were called to receive their final training scroll. To help them integrate into society, Sister Angèle HARANGA SILIKAM, Vice-Provincial of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, gave each one a sewing machine! It was a very moving moment, filled with emotions to the free expressions of each of the laureates, during their word of thanks. Thanks to the center, the trainers, parents and guardians with a special thank you to the Congregation for the support and encouragement.
Here is an excerpt from their speech. We, the winners of the 12th class at the Jeannette HORBAITA Center in Maroua, for the 2025/2026 school year, would like to say a big thank you to you, DHS for what you have done for us. Thank you for funding our training… and for this donation of sewing machines! Your kind heart leaves us speechless… This surprise will remain engraved in our hearts forever! Thanks to you, we young girls are now valued within our families and society. May the Lord bless you! These 3 years of training have transformed our way of thinking, thinking, looking towards the future, a future filled with beautiful surprises and where we are now able to take care of ourselves and provide for our vital needs to live our daily lives. Thank you for all the support you have given us.
After the ceremony of presentation of certificates for the winners of the 3rd year, and the report cards for the 1st and 2nd year, with presentation of gifts, we went to the exhibition-sale of beautiful objects and items made by the girls of the Center. The party continued with popular rejoicing!.
We, daughters of the Holy Spirit of Cameroon express our gratitude and appreciation to the Congregation and all the donors who support us in our mission and especially, in a special way, for the promotion of women on Cameroonian soil.
