It is with great emotion that our parish community of Noisy-le-Grand gathered for a mass of thanksgiving in honor of Sister Juliette who will leave our parish at the end of the month for health reasons, after nine years of faithful presence among us.
This celebration had a very special dimension, since it also marks the End of the presence of the community of sisters in our diocese. After fifteen years of mission within the diocese of Saint-Denis, the Congregation is indeed led to close its community. An important page of our parish history turns this way, leaving the memory of a discreet, fraternal and deeply committed presence in the service of the Gospel.
During the celebration, Sister Juliette retraced her journey with emotion, from her arrival in Noisy until today. She shared the major milestones of her mission, the encounters that have marked her and the joy of having journeyed within our community and the diocese. A simple and touching testimony, full of gratitude.
This departure echoes that of Sister Marie-Madeleine who, following a fall, was the first to have to leave the community. His departure, sudden and painful, had deeply affected the parishioners of Noisy-le-Grand. Very involved in the parish of Saint Paul of the Nations, where she provided hospitality, accompanied the young people from the high school chaplaincy, and participated in the Parish Animation Team. She was also engaged, at the level of the entire Pastoral Unit, in the Pastoral Team and the catechumenate of adults. His absence leaves a big void.
During these nine years, Sister Juliette has generously invested herself in many missions: at the Secours Catholique, with the young people of the college chaplaincy, at the Saint-Martin-le-Grand reception and within the Pastoral Animation Team. By her availability, listening and kindness, she has profoundly marked the life of our parish.
To thank the Lord for the commitment and dedication of Sister Juliette, the assembly united its voices in song, expressing gratitude for all that she sowed among us over the years.
At the end of the celebration, Father Benjamin, on behalf of the whole community, addressed words of deep gratitude to him. He wished her a beautiful continuation of his journey, assuring her of the affection and prayer of all the parishioners.
If the departure of Sister Juliette and the closure of the community sadden us, we keep in our hearts the luminous testimony of these nuns, their faith, their simplicity and their spirit of service. We give thanks for these nineteen years of presence of the Congregation in the diocese of Saint-Denis and for all that they have brought to our local Church.
