Retirement Home ‘Jeanne Guernion’
All week, the weather hesitated between cold, sunshine, showers… And on Saturday, June 13th, we had to be optimistic to keep the families meeting outside. But, good surprise, the sun was indeed there, the wind had calmed down but still brought a feeling of cold even in fair weather.
From 2:30 pm, the barnum, installed for the whole summer on the lawn at the entrance of the house, begins to fill up. Another much smaller shelter intrigues us and we see musicians and their instruments: saxophones, drums, keyboard and cello… It’s already the atmosphere of a festive gathering with jazz accents!
The director, Mr. DESPRES, wants to present to families, including sisters from other communities of the Mother House, the result of the satisfaction survey for which residents and families were able to express themselves on the various aspects of life in our nursing home. A sheet gave the essential answers. But now it was also important to live this good time together and get to know each other better in a festive atmosphere. The various heads of services were introduced. The last to arrive, the chef, demonstrated his talents by preparing a snack full of surprises for the eyes and the palates, with various homemade cookies and even small fruit skewers. The sets were moving to the sound of jazz. Several wanted to dance, maybe even Madame Nicolas Lucette who is celebrating his 100th birthday tomorrow!
