Celebration of the 80th anniversary of Secours Catholique

During the month of June, throughout France, the SECOURS CATHOLIQUE* celebrated the 80th anniversary of its foundation. How many families are supported, how many actions carried out with others, in society, in the Church!

The Diocese of Saint-Denis was associated with this great event. In Noisy-le-Grand *, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, as early as 10 a.m., volunteers and families were escorted to the forecourt of Saint-Sulpice Church to organize this event: setting up tables and chairs, arranging decorations, setting everything up, to share the responsibilities so that this day is everyone’s business!

We had decided, for those who wished, to be able to participate in the parish mass at 11 o’clock. At 12:30 p.m., before the festive afternoon, an inter-religious time was opened – by reading a stanza from the Surah AL-Mal’ldah.112-115 “Remember the moment when the Apostles said, ‘O Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord descend upon us from heaven, a table served? He said to them, “Believe in Allah if you are believers.” They said, “We want to eat it.” “I will send it down to you, but then whoever among you refuses to believe, I will punish him with a punishment that I have not punished anyone else in the universe.”  – by the Reading from the Gospel of Mark 6, 34-44: 5 loaves of bread, 2 fishes. “Jesus said to his disciples: How many loaves have you?” Go and see. And they made sure of it, and said, Five, and two fishes. Then he commanded them to make them all sit in groups on the green grass, and they sat down in rows of a hundred and fifty…”

Children and parents of the Secours Catholique had created a small choir and took their place through singing. Then everyone shared their specialties and gifts by exchanging. A fraternal and joyful atmosphere was established through dance, welcoming and respecting differences. Of course, we would have liked more parishioners to join this group to live together a fraternal time of exchange and mutual enrichment..

That’s a first step: others can follow, then…
