Chaska community education centre

The CHASKA school, in PERU, is organising an inter-age tutoring programme to promote collaborative learning, with teenagers helping children with their homework. The aim of this initiative is to develop socio-emotional skills, strengthen leadership, camaraderie, trust and commitment, and thus help to build a more inclusive, supportive and participative school.

During the workshop -pictured below-, the children demonstrated their creativity by painting the plaster pots themselves. They also experimented with preparing the plaster paste to make the pots, using moulds provided by the teacher. They also presented their culinary creations and enthusiastically explained the benefits of fruit and vegetables while practising active listening, paying attention to their classmates, asking questions and sharing ideas. By introducing them to new combinations of flavours, the experience builds their confidence, encourages teamwork and encourages them to express themselves clearly.

School support for boys and girls helps them with their learning, homework, study habits, motivation and emotional and social development, and improves their performance and well-being in the various aspects of school life.

This May, the school was delighted to receive a valuable donation of files, charts and teaching materials for the children. These resources will not only enrich school activities but also represent a demonstration of commitment and support for education. We deeply appreciate this gesture of solidarity, which strengthens our daily work and motivates the entire educational community to continue building together a dignified, creative and inclusive learning space.
Each donation is a seed of hope that is transformed into enthusiasm and dedication on the part of our students.
