On 30 May 2025, the girls in the 23rd year of the ‘Centre de Promotion de la Jeune Fille’ (CPJF) in Touloum, Cameroon, received their certificates of completion. In a festive and emotional atmosphere, many people came to support them and celebrate the achievements of these courageous young girls.
The decor was already in place at daybreak, so when guests, families, friends and acquaintances arrived, they were warmly welcomed. At 9am precisely, the activities began: the young people of the CPJF played the national anthem of Cameroon, creating an atmosphere of respect and pride. Sister Pascaline, director of the CPJF, then took the floor to underline the importance of this event and to highlight the goodwill and efforts made by the learners throughout the year. She encouraged the girls to pursue their dreams with determination. Then it was time to present the certificates. The winners were greeted by cheers, joyful singing, and captivating choreography. The graduates and the other young people presented several activities, including the performance of the women’s anthem, recitations, riddles, and sketches.
The party continued with the symbolic cutting of the cake. The aim was to support the work of the CPJF. Immediately afterwards, all those present were taken on a guided tour of the stands displaying the articles and other creations made by the girls during the year. This was followed by the sharing of a glass of friendship water and moments of relaxation and exchange. At the end of this beautiful celebration, the thanks and thanksgiving could not cease to be heard here and there.
In this jubilee year under the theme of Hope, anyone who, in one way or another, has helped to give hope back to these young people, can sing the canticle of Simeon, because from now on young women have a solid tool to integrate into society. Thank you all once again. May the Most High continue to shape our hearts with the contributions of his love.
